Staff Spotlight: Meet Savannah Burdine
Written By: Marci Schneider
Savannah Burdine is a thoughtful and creative designer whose appreciation for rich color, natural materials, and meaningful details influences everything she creates.
With a style she describes as Modern Mediterranean Heritage, she brings warmth, character, and a sense of history to her work, along with a genuine love for the technical process that brings a home to life.
A Creative Path from Indianapolis to Dallas
Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Savannah grew up surrounded by a large, close-knit family. Some of her favorite childhood memories are the simplest ones: spending time together, gathering around good food, and enjoying the comfort of a full house.
That strong sense of family remains an important part of who she is today.
Indiana will always feel like home, but moving to Dallas during her junior year of college marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter. The transition pushed her outside her comfort zone and gave her the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.
Her college journey began at The Art Institute of Indianapolis, where she started pursuing her passion for interior design. When the campus unexpectedly closed, she made the decision to relocate to Texas and transfer to The Art Institute of Dallas. There, she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design.
What began as an unexpected change ultimately became an important turning point, one that introduced her to a new city, new opportunities, and the next stage of her design career.
Creativity, Construction, and a Love for the Details
Creativity was part of Savannah’s life long before she knew interior design could become a career.
As a child, she could often be found pretending to cook, designing clothes, or rearranging her bedroom for what felt like the hundredth time. She also spent time helping her grandmother remodel her home, removing wallpaper, painting, and brainstorming ideas for the kitchen layout.
“I always knew I wanted to do something creative,” she says.
Her interest became more focused during high school, when she enrolled in both fashion and interior design classes. The interior design course introduced her to mood boards, finish palettes, and the fundamentals of building a cohesive space. Although introductory, the class helped her realize that her creativity could translate into a meaningful career.
College revealed an entirely new side of the profession.
“I realized there was so much more to design than selecting furniture and making a space look beautiful,” she explains. “I fell in love with the construction and architectural side of the process, and all the little details that most people probably wouldn’t even notice.”
For Savannah, interior design represents the perfect balance between imagination and thoughtful problem-solving. Watching every carefully considered detail come together from the earliest plans through installation is the satisfying final reward.
A Style All Her Own
Savannah describes her ideal home as Modern Mediterranean Heritage: a layered aesthetic that combines Old World influence with a fresh, collected sensibility.
Her design perspective is grounded in earthy colors, expressive patterns, natural materials, warm wood tones, and organic textures. She is especially drawn to interiors that feel cozy, timeless, and lived-in rather than overly polished or new.
Here are a few of her current design favorites:
Favorite Paint Color: Benjamin Moore Vintage Vogue
“I love a good earthy green, and lately I’ve been drawn to rich, moody colors that create a warm, cozy, and inviting atmosphere.”
She loves that Benjamin Moore’s Vintage Vogue can function almost like a neutral. It offers the versatility of a warm white or brown while introducing greater depth and personality.
Go-To Fabric Line: Kelly Ventura
Savannah is currently drawn to Kelly Ventura’s beautiful patterns, soft color palettes, and organic, artistic quality.
She especially appreciates that the brand offers coordinating fabrics and wallcoverings, making it possible to create interiors that feel cohesive and layered without sacrificing personality or character.
Design Trends She’s Loving: Color Drenching and Natural Materials
Color drenching is one of Savannah’s favorite ways to create an enveloping, inviting atmosphere. She loves pairing rich color with natural stone, warm woods, and organic textures to give a room dimension and a sense of permanence.
Together, these elements create the warm, timeless, and lived-in feeling she is always drawn to.
Current Wallpaper Crush: The Pattern Collective
The Pattern Collective is one of Savannah’s favorite wallpaper sources thanks to its wide range of distinctive patterns, colors, and textures.
She loves the versatility of the collection: its wallcoverings can make a bold, personality-filled statement or introduce something quieter, more subtle, and timeless.
Outside the Studio
Away from the studio, much of Savannah’s time is happily centered around her two-and-a-half-year-old son. Together, they enjoy trips to the park, walks, new activities, and exploring unfamiliar places.
“One of the things that means the most to me is creating a childhood for him that feels fun, full, and memorable,” she says, “with plenty of opportunities to experience and be curious about the world around him.”
When she finds a little time for herself, she enjoys gardening and spending time in the kitchen. Growing fresh ingredients and transforming them into homemade meals for her family has become especially rewarding.
When colder weather put her garden on pause, she discovered another creative outlet: baking sourdough bread and bagels. Sharing what she makes with friends and family is part of the enjoyment.
“I’m happiest with a full house, good food, and the people I love around me.”
She is always ready for a game night with friends, and when it is time to slow down, one of her favorite ways to unwind is with a good book.
Music is usually playing in the background, too. Her current rotation changes with the occasion, but Taylor Swift, Ella Langley, and Billie Eilish are among the artists she returns to most often.
Why She Designs
For Savannah, interior design brings together the creative instincts she has had since childhood and the technical, detail-oriented side of the profession she discovered along the way.
She loves that the work requires both imagination and intention. Every drawing, material, architectural detail, and carefully considered decision contributes to the way a finished home looks, feels, and functions.
Most importantly, she appreciates the opportunity to create spaces that support the lives being lived within them. She loves designing homes that are personal, welcoming, and capable of holding meaningful memories for years to come.
We’re so excited to have Savannah as part of the Angeline & Co. team! She brings warmth, creativity, and thoughtful perspective to our projects daily, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds!
